PEARS-ChicagoThe Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) course intends to help healthcare providers develop the knowledge and skills needed for assessment, evaluation, and treatment of seriously ill infants and children in an emergency. It is targeted for providers that may have to deal with pediatric emergencies not as a common occurrence but because of their situation may have to deal with an emergency of this type. Target group includes non pediatric medical specialist, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, school personnel and emergency medical technicians. The course covers recognition of respiratory distress, cardiac arrest in pediatric population, and shock .It covers appropriate life saving interventions prior to arrival of Pediatric Advance life support team and covers resuscitation team dynamics.
The program is given as a classroom based, instructor led course. Participants pass the written examination and skills training to be PEARS certified by an (AHA) certified instructor. Schedule your class in advance. |
